Clusters & Alliances

The previous structural associations and their thematic orientation complement each other in an ideal way with regard to the topic of energy system transformation, as different thematic focuses are pronounced in each case.

The CER.UDE - Center for Energy Research links energy research at the UDE in natural sciences, engineering, economics and social sciences. The focus is on materials research and areas of power generation, distribution, storage as well as economics and the investigation, description and simulation of energy conversion and storage processes.

The HEMF - House of Energy Markets and Finance conducts research at the interface of energy and finance. The combination of methods from energy economics and financial mathematics is unique in this form. It offers a platform for the economic analysis and support of the transformation of the energy system.

The CCCE - Closed Carbon Cycle Economy considers the technical and societal aspects of the long-term transformation of electricity, heat, fuel and (chemical) feedstock supply towards closed carbon cycles.

The IBE - Institut für Energie- und Bergrecht as an inter-faculty scientific institution of the RUB is a leading research and consulting institution in Germany for national, European and international mining and energy law.

The CR&E - Cluster Energie und Ressourcen bundles research on future energy systems from an electrotechnical, information technology, computer science, spatial planning, economic and social science perspective.
